Who We Are

I am passionate about devising and implementing sustainable solutions that will help ensure our water resources are kept healthy, adequately distributed, and that the UN's declaration that water is a Human Right, be upheld among the more marginalized groups of the world. Similarly, I want to help make sure that good sanitation and hygiene are wide-spread, and explore innovative agricultural practices that will help feed a growing population while addressing the impacts of climate change.
Qualifications: I earned a double major in Economics and Agriculture from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in addition to a minor in Environmental Engineering. As part of my capstone experience, I spent four months in the Economic and Social Development department of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN at their headquarters in Rome, Italy. From here, I went on to pursue my Master’s degree in Water Security and International Development from the University of East Anglia in England. I focused my dissertation on industrial scale biogas plants as a sustainable method for treating waste, which led to a position at the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Madison, WI where I assisted with projects in the Pretreatment Division. In 2014, I spent 4 months Kathmandu, Nepal volunteering for a local NGO (ISET-Nepal) that focused on Climate Change and Adaptation, and now currently reside in Siem Reap, Cambodia. I have experience with GIS, conducting Cost-Benefit Analysis, and field-work collecting water samples and monitoring the health of the stream.

I have backgrounds in the fields of Geography, International Development and Political Science. From this, I have developed skill-sets in field research and analysis methods and have subject specific knowledge of agricultural livelihoods, river and water sciences, world health concerns in developing countries and Geographical Information Systems software (GIS). I have an interest in these subjects as I believe that humanity should consistently seek to transcend negativities within our world, that manifest grievance and inequality. It is wrong that we are so technologically advanced and capable, and yet there are still tens of millions of people who cannot even survive with any certainty. Every human has a right to the provisions which make life not only survivable, but fulfilling and comfortable also. It is my goal in life and within our projects to at least contribute to the process of achieving this. To develop my competencies within the relevant fields I wish to work in, I completed a BSc in Geography at Worcester University and an MA in International Development and Political Science at the University of East Anglia. I have also fundraised for a number of Non-Profit progressive organizations and have completed a Political Internship with the Democratic Party in the United States.
